How should I prepare for my treatment?

Accepted Answer

To get the best results from your session:
 • No tanning or self-tanners for at least two weeks before treatment. **
 • No waxing, plucking, or depilatory creams for four weeks—shaving is fine.
 • Shave the area 24 hours before treatment, but leave very sparse hairs unshaved so we can assess them.
 • Skip lotions, deodorants, and creams on the treatment area the day of your session. 
 • Please shower day of your appointment, especially for laser appointments bikini and beyond. 
 • Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment!

Following these steps ensures your treatment is safe, effective, and delivers the best results.

** If you have an active tan, your appointment will be re-scheduled. During summer seasons with regular sun exposure, we ask for 4 weeks off of tanning and that sunscreen be worn every day (including under your clothes!)

Is laser hair removal painful?

Laser hair removal at ReMuve is designed to be as comfortable as possible. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild snapping of a rubber band against the skin, which is manageable and temporary. Our advanced technology includes built-in cooling systems to minimize discomfort during the treatment.

How many sessions are needed?

Accepted Answer

As many hair cycles as you have! In any given 4-8 week period in the year, only a portion of your hair follicles actually have a hair growing in them. We can only treat and kill hair follicles that have an active hair.

The number of sessions can also depend on factors such as the treatment area, hair type, and skin type. On average, clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to achieve optimal results.

What should I expect post treatment?

Accepted Answer

Here’s what’s normal:
   - Some mild redness or warmth, like a light sunburn, for a few hours. These symptoms should be monitored and actively treated with aloe vera gel or a cold compress to reduce the likelihood of longer lasting tenderness.
   - Treated hairs will begin shedding in 7–10 days—no need to pluck or shave, just let them fall out naturally.
   - The treated area may feel extra sensitive to heat for 24–48 hours—avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts.
